Please force your Mac to shut down by pressing and holding its power button / Touch ID button for about ten seconds.

Then, release the button and attempt to power it up again in the usual manner.

If the display is still black with no signs of life, proceed with:

If your Mac starts up to a blank screen

Read and follow each of its steps also, all the way through and including the end, which takes you to:

"If you still need help, please contact Apple Support."

Are there any indication lights anywhere on the computer lighting up? I believe there are 2 lights on the left side of the computer that should light up.
