MacOS X in the clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc...)
When will Apple embrace partnerships with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP so we their customers can run MacOS X in the clouds? It is hard to understand why this is not already possible.
I have talked to AWS Support about this and they said it is not possible because of MacOS X's license agreement requiring MacOS X to only be run on Apple hardware.
To which I answered, install some Apple hardware then.
To which they answered, classically AWS AMIs use the Xen hypervisor on bare metal. Xen offers two kinds of virtualization: HVM (Hardware Virtual Machine) and PV(Paravirtualization). However, AWS is moving towards a new virtualization system called AWS Nitro which is more lightweight. Apple's MacOS X would have to support one of these methods of virtualization and the MacOS X license agreement would have to be modified in order to run MacOS X in the clouds.
Apple please make this happen you would sell a lot more MacOS X Server licenses and other Mac software. Plus you would make your customers happier.
