I’ve got the tablet it landscape mode, and to turn the volume up, I have to push the left volume button. Then, the volume visual display moves the volume to the right.
the opposite is the same. Turning down the volume is the opposite too! I have to push the right button?!
can someone fix this quirk?

With the iPad oriented with the FaceID sensor at the top of the screen - in Portrait mode - the physically upper volume button increases the volume; the physically lower volume button decreases the volume.
When you rotate the screen to Landscape, the physical buttons have the same functions as before.
I hope this is helpful clarification.
Nothing to fix. The two hardware volume buttons are what they are. They can't switch over just because you're holding the device a different way. The visual display is consistent with whether you're turning the volume up or down.
Hi all, I’m no design expert, but I think this is bad UX and design. The tablet knows which direction it’s facing, so why shouldn’t the buttons swap automatically. To say that it is the way it is, and just works, is like drinking the cool aide. This can be be easily changed with the right programming. I’m surprised it hasn’t been fixed or addressed. I’m sure Mr Ives Would have had thoughts about this.
oh well. I’ll keep using it in backwards mode.
