I just purchased a second Apple TV. I want to use this one in another room. I have the remote app installed on my iphoneX which works with the original Apple TV. How can I use this same app on my iphoneX to control the new Apple TV.

OOPS! As it turned out the problem was that the new Apple TV device was not connected to same network as my iphone. Easy fix. I just assumed when the new Apple TV was set up that it went to the same network. Not.

Assign each TV to a “room” and set them up in the Home app.
Ah, glad you solved it. I’m new to Apple TV also; I just discovered that Air Play to Apple TV only works if you are not only on the same network, it must be Wi-Fi. An Ethernet connection doesn’t work, even if it’s the same network.
