I just read the c|net article on transferring data from my old SE to a next gen SE that I'm anticipating buying. What the article doesn't address is when to swap/change/replace the SIM card. I'm using Consumer Cellular. Thanks

I would do it the day I received the new one.
Not much data is stored on the sim.
It doesn't matter.
You need to buy an unlocked iPhone from Apple.
If your old SE ran iOS 13 then you can backup the old device and restore it on the new one.
Thanks. I do understand what you've given me. What I don't understand is, when I'm in the process of transferring all my data from one to the other, at what point do I swap the SIM cards.
I apologize for my ignorance . . . but - do I complete all the transfers THEN swap the cards or do I do it before I start?
