Catalina Update Stuck in 511MB

Multiple times I have tried updating my macbook pro 2017 to catalina. At some point (e.g. 1.02GB) it will tell me that there is an error. And then I am back to 511MB. Tried using safe boot as well to no avail.

Not sure if someone already found a solution for this?

MacBook, OS X 10.11

If your download speed is suspect, try a faster network—this is typically the issue.

Do you have enough free storage space on the drive? I forget how much room you need, but it may be as much as 50GB or more.

Have you tried installing from Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R? Or maybe create a bootable macOS 10.15 Catalina USB installer?

Have you run Disk Utility First Aid on the drive to make sure there are no file system issues?
