Problems with the Catalina Update

I attempted to update my MacBook Air to Catalina about 6 times now, but every time it gets to the 8.18 out of 8.18 MB downloaded, nothing happens. I've tried restarting my computer and updating in safe mode, but both didn't work. How do I solve this?

The full download would be GB not MB.

You can check your applications folder "Install macOS Catalina.app" .

If it is not some ~8.13 GB in size, delete any partial download and empty the trash. Try again.
