I cannot update to macOS Catalina on my iMac.

I cannot update to OS Catalina on my iMac. I click upgrade now and the status bar shows the progress of 8.23 gb. Once 8.23 gb is downloaded it just stops. There is never an error message the screen just refreshes to "upgrade now." I've tried multiple times - even after restarting my Mac. I am currently running macOS Mojave

And what does Upgrade Now do?

Look in Applications for Install MacOS Catalina.

Let me caution you about having updates automatically run on your Mac. If you're in the middle of an important project and run into something like now, it could seriously compromise the project or the schedule. I prefer to monitor updates manually and apply them when I'm not involved in critical work. It lets me clean up the Mac, i.e. run First aid from the Recovery volume, before running major updates or upgrades.

Just some food for thought.
