Move ring not moving with Exercise ring

I have an apple watch series 5 and the last few days my move ring isn't tracking with my exercise ring.

Today I walked for 60 minutes. My exercise ring completed two loops and my move ring was following. I ended the workout, drank some water took off my watch to take a shower and when I put it back on my move ring showed almost no movement, but my exercise ring stayed the same.

It did the same thing two days ago, without me taking the watch off. It just never tracked. My exercise ring did this in the past. Does the series 5 just have major glitches on the rings?

I have checked every setting and nothing is off. Help! I'm getting really frustrated. I try to close my rings every day and now even though i'm putting in the work i'm not getting the rings I am due.

Hello, 3rdtymeround.

I understand that your Apple Watch seems not to be accurately tracking your exercise movements. I want to help make sure you can get credit for all of your hard work!

The first thing I would do is restart both your Apple Watch and your iPhone and then test for the behavior.

Restart your iPhone . This straightforward troubleshooting step is quick and often resolves any number of issues.

Restart your Apple Watch

It is also essential that both your Apple Watch and your iPhone are backed up and up-to-date.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Back up your Apple Watch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your Apple Watch

The next thing I would do is calibrate your Apple Watch. Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy

I feel like calibrating will all you need to do, but should the issue remain, I would unpair my Apple Watch from my iPhone and pair it back.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Be Well.
