My move ring is not working. My exercise ring closes but move ring doesn’t move at all

Has anyone been experiencing the same problem with their Apple Watch? My Apple Watch is series 6.. and it’s been a week after the latest update.

I am having the exact same issue! My exercise ring will move, I will say I earned a certain number of active calories, and then the move ring won't account for it. So frustrating and only just starting happening last week! I have been in contact with Apple Support, but they think it may be caused by the third party app (Garmin Connect) I am using to sync my workouts. Apple said they would let engineering know about the issue, but I am not sure when/if it will be fixed.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
