Apple Watch Series 2 Wont Charge

My watch wont hold a charge. When i put in on the charger it turns on for me to select my language. Then it says "Low battery. To continue, connect charger." WHILE its on the charger. I have an original apple charger, I have tried letting it charge over night and nothing works. Is it just too old?
