Storage

I purchased additional storage for by iPhone and iPad devices that are synced. The iPhone and iPad show the additional storage in settings but I still get message from my iPad that’s I do not have no storage and for that reason, I cannot take pictures using my iPad.

You cannot directly add storage to your iPhone or iPad.


It sounds like what you purchased was additional iCloud storage.


iCloud storage can be used to offload some data from your phone/iPad, leaving room for other apps/data, etc.

In this way seldom-used data (e.g. most photos, old apps, documents, etc.) are stored in iCloud and downloaded as-needed.

Some of this is automatic, but some of it you need to enable yourself.


Check Settings -> AppleID -> iCloud to check which apps will offload to iCloud storage
