Use my old (wiped) iPhone 6s without cellular / data plan

I just upgraded to the iPhone 11. I have my old 6s. I have already transferred everything to my new device and wiped the 6s.

I would like to keep the 6s and use it with WiFi only. Verizon is my carrier. The line has been transferred to new phone. The old phone was off contract etc... What are the steps to use the 6s with WiFi only?

Should I just follow steps for "manual set up?" Should I link to my apple ID? Should I remove SIM card?

thanks!

No leave sim card in there.

Are your trying to keep all the apps and music? If so you shouldn't have to do anything but stay connected to wifi.

If you don't want all the data on it, then do this What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and set it up as new.

I use my old phone as ipods, I erase it set it up as new, sign into my apple id, but don't sync my data. Then plug it into itunes to sync music.
