Face ID

the last few days my Face ID has not been working, instead each time I lift my phone to my face it shows that it’s loading but I always have to type my passcode. I tried to reset it in settings but it doesn’t scan my face after many tries. How do I reset it so it scans my face? Please help! Thank you!
