Cannot see Apple music subscription downloads on Apple tv

Hi, this is my first post in the forum as I could not find help online. I have songs downloaded on my mac under the Apple music subscription and have the sync and home sharing switched on. I can see all these songs in the library on my iPhone, but cannot see them on the apple tv (3rd generation). I can only see some old purchased music on apple tv. Even with home sharing on, I can't see these downloaded songs on the apple tv. I have all the latest software updates on all 3 devices. Any help will be appreciated.
