Facetime Screen Size Change

I’ve been noticing when on FT my screen (where I see myself) will sometimes change its size to a small square instead of the regular rectangle that we’re all used too.

I tried switching off/on the portrait orientation and it doesn’t help. Anyone have a fix for this?

If you are on iOS 13.4, FaceTime adjusts the image size dynamically to make the person that is talking at the moment a larger image. This is not always perfect, as people often talk over each other, or there are silent pauses, but is very helpful in FaceTime conversations with many users connected.
