Menu Bar too Small

The Menu Bar font and icons are too small on my iMac 27". If the Display Preference is changed from the default to a larger text size, the amount of usable screen decreases and I am unable to have the windows open that I need. There are hundreds of complaints about this problem on Apple and other websites. Respectfully request that Apple enlarge the Menu Bar font and icons.
