An icon (a question mark with a box around it) is replacing text in my Mail app when I receive HTML emails and it also happens in Pages. It will not go away when I change the font, so it's not a font issue. I have also run a virus scan with two different softwares and nothing came up. Please help! It's plaguing me!
Usually, it means there is an image to insert in the text but the link to the image is broken.
What was pasted here is a lot of lines that are links. I've no idea, then, what your program is producing. The question marks appear to mark URLs that are missing. Do you have Pages setup to do HTML? I don't use Pages, so I don't know if it even can produce HTML.
But it's not an image. When I'm typing in Pages, it appears on every empty paragraph break. It will disappear if I put a space in the empty paragraph. I'm learning to use paragraph spacing instead of multiple returns when I'm creating documents myself, but every document I open from other people is riddled with the icon.
