I am following all the steps with detailed precision... even though I received this message before the installation party begins! "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for Windows 7 or later installation."

Maybe you downloaded the iso that contains both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 10. Only the 64 bit version will work.

Can you post the Model Identifier from About This Mac -> System Report -> Hardware?

A 2012 iMac (late) is compatible with macOS Mojave - Technical Specifications. Also, there are two late 2012 models as noted in Identify your iMac model - Apple Support. I do not recommend Catalina.

to be able to install windows 10 with bootcamp you can edit the plist file, i don't know what to do there, you can search it up on google

i suggest you installing windows 7 and then upgrade to windows 10.

I can't read German but my guess is you did not download Windows 10 just the update to Windows 10.
