Apple watch calories didn’t count correctly

I just did a 1,023 calorie workout using the Other option (it was yard-work). I checked

my activity rings however, and it said i had burned 908 calories, not 1,023. is there an explanation for this?

The 1.023 probably includes calories that you burn working out or not. The Activity Move ring shows only active calories.

because that’s how many calories it said i burned when i ended it
