show my caller ID is displaying a waiting wheel, I can’t switch it off.
This appears to be a big issue, other members of my household with iPhones have the same problem. Apple ought to release a fix ASAP
i have rebooted, removed the SIM but nothing is working

That is not an Apple issue. Not all cellular providers allow the end user to turn Caller ID on or off. You need to check with your provider to see if they provide that feature, and if not if they will turn off your Caller ID. Not all providers will.

Try restarting the iPhone then. If that does not work, the next troubleshooting step is to force restart the iPhone. Force restart iPhone - Apple Support If that does not help, the last two steps are to create a current backup, then restore the iPhone to the backup, and if that does not help, restore the iPhone to factory and set it up as new not using a backup and test before adding any additional content. If that does not do it, contact your carrier to make sure that your number is provisioned for call forwarding.
however my wife who is on the same network and also has an iPhone 11 can toggle the caller ID off and on? More importantly how can I fix the problem?
