Bluetooth Mighty Mouse won't rename or reset on macOS

I have a bluetooth Mighty Mouse (yes, that old one from when Apple cared at least a little about ergonomics) and I can't rename it on bluetooth preferences; it appears to be successful renamed, but goes back to the name as soon as I left the menu or check it on the system tray.

All the questions to this points reseting the device though the debug menu, but even that doesn't work (reseting the bluetooth module does not, also), it keeps showing the old owner name and I can't rename it.

I wonder if it's an issue of legacy support on macOS, although it doesn't makes much sense to me drop support for one of the only three bluetooth mouses Apple have, while supporting all iPods released.

I hope Mojave can do it too, because I have been downloading it (for the 32-bit support) for some hours already (my connection is bad, but it seems Apple servers are worst). I had High Sierra dualboot till days ago, but I had to wipe my SSD thanks to a system crash (APFS ain't that resilient, apparently).

To clarify, Mighty Mouse is different from Magic Mouse, it's the one that looks like a soap dish and have the 360˚ scroll ball (the nipple), the one that Apple sells nowadays only in the wired form, but had a Bluetooth model till 2009. Since it's that old, I'm afraid only a real old OS will be able to reset and rename it.
