I'm giving my old laptop to my granddaughter. It's all ready to go (cleaned up good) except for iTunes. How do I remove iTunes from the old laptop but keep the songs on my new laptop and iPhone?

Deauthorize the computer for your Apple ID, sign out of your Apple ID, close iTunes, then delete the iTunes folder from inside your User > Music folder and empty the recycle bin. Your other libraries and device will be unaffected. You might want to reinstall Windows from scratch so that she has a completely clean machine to work with.

I did deauthorize the old computer but it had no effect. Itunes was still there and all tunes were visible and delete-able. It wasyour next step that I didn't do correctly but I couldn't figure out where to find any answers to my question. I did eventually delete iTunes after backing it up in three different ways (saved files to USB, used CopyTrans backup to a USB and also CopyTrans to different location on my newer laptop's hard drive). And when I uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller everything was still on newer laptop and iPhone. Yay! Now I hope I can find your method when I get rid of this computer.
