FCPX / Motion Crash when Export

Hi,

As i was working on a project since two weeks, everything went fine, but three days ago I tried to export a still image on Motion 5, and it didn't accept. I did export still images all the days before and it was ok. I try to export film, it doesn't work as well. So I tried to go on FCPX to export a still image, an then FCPX crashes. I notice it crashes as soon as I try to export, no matters how, I can not even choose, it crashes as I click on share and any export otpion.

I did try:

-Unsisntall / Reinstall FCPX MOTION5, crash the same

-Upgrade my OS 10.12.3 to 10.12.6, crash the same

-Delete all my preferences, crash the same

-Open FCPX on another admin session, crash the same...

-Uprgrade Pro Video Formats, crash the same

Don't know what to do... I have to delive to my client .... please Help...

Many thanks

Jerome

I was referring to the odd Mobile Devices file that seems to be creating problems with older systems. I agree with Luis that cleanmymac has likely deleted something it shouldn't have and hosed your system. A clean install is usually the only solution. Rebuilding the OS and reinstalling the apps. For you that would mean having system installer and application installer backups to maintain the current level of your system.

I don't understand what a Mac OS patcher is....

Mojave is available for download, but you won't find it by searching in the App Store.

This page contains a download link:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210190

You did not say what your mac is, how much RAM it has and what is that external drive, or how it is connected.

All of these have an impact on how it will perform.

I used this:

http://dosdude1.com/mojave/

and it worked, Mojave installed on my external Disk , but without an USB boot, it did'nt work like this. But when I run mojave on this external disk, it is vey slow and impossible to dowload FCPor Motion from the Appstore? There is the icould dowlaodable logo but it doesn't work.

My mac is Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch Mid-2014, 16 Go 1600 MHz DDR3

I used first a USB sandisk cruzer 32Go, and as it didn't work I tried to boot with a Lacie Rugged 500G thunderbolt. It didin't restart. Si I install Mojave on an external Lacie Rugged 1T thunderbolt. It did install. I opened it. But very slow and impossible to install FCP or motion via the app store. I can see the link, and the cloud dowlodable logo, but as I press it , nothing happens...

Hi evryone, hope you're doing well.

So I finaly install Mojave on an external drive, FCP10.4.8 and Motion5.4.5.

It's nox running ok. I tried to reimport my motion project, and it's exporting and FCP as well.... BUT, I notice that my motion project with my Mpuppet plugin installed ( MotionVFX plugin) is running very slow, the mouse control bug... asn when I unsinstal the plugin, it's running ok.

Mpuppet is a plugin that allow to animate ( distort, wrap) an object. My project consist of animating persons inside a painting. For that I have to make lots of layers ( persons, recreate the missing frame behind the person, layers for the arms, the body) and all that in a room that I turned into 3D with motion. It makes a lot of layers... plus the animation of my persons. It's a very slow animation like a slowmotion movement but maybe it is still to much.

On the Motionvfx site, they say that Mpuppet is running on Motion 5.4.3. Does it mean that it's not working on 5.4.5? That would explain the bug when the plugin is installed?

Si my problem now is that I can't finish my work on my upgrade Mojave and motion if I can't use the plugin. And when I go back to my sierra, U can use the plugin but can't export...

Could it be a problem with my processing memory? To much informations, too much layers and animation? How could that affects FCPX as well as I'm only working on motion?

I try to find the my motion render files , but in my motion preferences i can see that "Save Retiming Files" shoul be in a "/Users/username/Library/Caches/com.apple.motionapp/Retiming Cache Files/ folder, but I can't find this folder in my mac...

I have worked on three painting before that, so I suppose I have a lot of cache, or rendering stocked somewhere that I could delete, but can't find it... could it be the origin of my problem? As well as for FCPX?

Many thanks again, such ashame not to be able to fix this and still bother you with that.

Hi,

So I did spend a long night... pas finally tried to install Mojave on an external hard rice using a usb boot. Impossible to finalize... I used a Mac OS patcher, the only way to find back Mojave as it is not on my French store anymore. Everything went fine, I made my USB boot but when I tried to open my max with it, I turn the computer on, press alt, choose my usb. Can see the apple, the charging bar goes to 100% then nothing. Stay like that... tried three time whith a usb. I tried to do the same operation with a Lacie hard drive 1T, same... apple and charging bar at 100 for hours...

So I decided to install Mojave on the external drive without the boot. It worked... finally.. but its running so slow...!!

And when I try to download FCP 10.4.8 from my AppStore, the circle goes on and on without starting...

I will come crazy soon...

so, When I try to download fcp 10.4.8 from the AppStore iCloud button, a grey circle starts rolling... then the iCloud import logo comes backs as if nothing happened... I’m stock... really don’t understand how all this could have come such a nightmare from one second to the other last day... everything was going fine then now nothing works..
