What does the "# days remaining" indicate for a new PC just added to iTunes?

I have just purchased a new laptop PC and have added it to my list of devices for iTunes and used iTunes match to download my library to it. When I look at my account just now I see "Associated 4 April 2020 -- 8 days remaining". What does the "8 days remaining" mean? What will happen when that time has elapsed?

I'm in the process of retiring my old PC and plan to remove that machine from by iTunes account, but I don't want to lose any music or functionality due to the switch to the new PC.

A similar question has been asked before, by someone else, but the one answer posted didn't address the question.

I understand you have a question about the days remaining showing on your iTunes. I'd like to help. This message indicates how long you have until you're able to associate that PC with another Apple ID. Once that Time limit is up, you could see this message if you try to associate with another Apple ID: View and remove your associated devices for purchases

"More about associated devices

You can have ten devices (no more than five computers) associated with your Apple ID for purchases at one time.

When you try to associate another device that was previously associated, you might see a message that says, "This device is associated with another Apple ID. You cannot associate this device with another Apple ID for [number] days." Depending on when you associated your device with your Apple ID, you might need to wait up to 90 days to associate the device with another Apple ID.

This list of associated devices is not the same as the list of devices that you're currently signed in to with your Apple ID. You can see where you're signed in on your Apple ID account page".

Thank you, but I've afraid it is still not very clear to me what will happen to my lap top at the end of the week. Does it mean that there is a temporary block on other Apple ID's using my iTunes and that will end? If so, I didn't know that it was possible to share iTunes like that, and no one else uses my iTunes library anyway. Seeing the counter running out is quite worrying when I don't understand how I will be affected when my final days have elapsed.

What I really want too know is:

(i) Am I okay removing my old PC as an associated device (and binning the machine), and

(ii) Will I then be able to use my new laptop as the sole repository of my iTunes library without loosing any of the functionality I currently have with the PC?

Simple answers (if possible) would be very much appreciated.
