How do I update my preferences in Apple Music after the initial setup?
I’ve been able to like songs, but I can’t add specific artists or styles after the initial setup. Is this something that we can’t do? If not, this app is kinda hot garbage.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you want to be able to change your genre and artist preferences in the Music app. I’m happy to help.
This option is no longer available, but you are able to like or dislike artists and songs. This will allow your preferences to be determined by your likes and dislikes.
