Update on iPhone resulted in 6 digit passcode

I installed an update on my iPad and now my iPhone is requiring a 6 digit passcode which was previously a 4 digit passcode. I do not know what the correct 6 digit is because I didn’t change it to 6 digits. Therefore, I cannot currently use my phone. HELP PLEASE!

iPhone 8, iOS 13

You cannot restore your iPhone from an iPad. Backup files are either in iCloud and/or on a computer. There are no backup files on an iPad. ➔ To Reset your Passcode, you will need a computer as instructed in my initial response.

After your passcode has been reset and your iPhone data has been erased then you can ➔ Restore it from your back up in iCloud.

NOTE - The dark blue text in my response above are internet links to articles by apple which provide instructions. Please click on those. Thanks.

Rather than focusing on how you got to the 6 digit passcode from an initial 4 digit passcode, lets focus on getting your passcode reset. You can reset your passcode by following the instructions in this article by Apple ➔ How to reset your passcode on a disabled iPhone. You will need a computer for this task and all your data on your iPhone will be wiped clean in the process. If you have a backup created then you can ➔ Restore Your iPhone from that backup file. If you do not have a backup file created then you will lose all your data on the iPhone. If Messages and Contacts are synced to iCloud then you will be able to retrieve them.
