MacBook Air overheating on Catalina

I updated my mac from high sierra to catalina recently and ever since I've had overheating and battery draining problems, sometimes my mac gets even too hot to touch in some places! I've never had overheating trouble in the past and am barely using any storage on my mac as I keep most files on flash drives, I've also tried resetting the SMC which hasn't seemed to help at all. Even just browsing on Safari seems to make it get hotter, I've also checked the activity monitor for anything abnormal and everything seems to be okay. If anyone has any possible solutions or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

  4. Scan: the Hard Drive with First Aid

Consider Staying With High Sierra:

Just downgrade your MacBook Air to High Sierra using a USB Installer for macOS High Sierra. If the issue persists, then it it an issue with your hardware. You would send it in to Apple for service, if that is the case and if it is an option to you.

To Install High Sierra, You would...

I. Backup your Mac Using Time Machine:

II. Install High Sierra:

    2. Erase: the Hard Drive
    3. Delete: the Partitions
    4. Install: High Sierra from the Installer

III. Use Migration Assistant to Transfer it Over
