Help, can't install Windows Support Software (using Boot Camp Assistant)

Hello,

I am using the latest OS for my MacBook Pro. I installed the support software files a couple years ago and it worked fine (I believe it was on the last OS software before this one). When I try to download them to the folder it gives me a pop up box (Installing the helper tool) that repeatedly shows up after I input my password, another one keeps popping up. The pop up boxes keep popping up and won't ever go away. How do I fix this please? This never happened in the past when I download the support files.

Do you have an external USB connected to receive the package?
If the internal disk has APFS corruption, saving the package can fail. Can you post the output of

sudo fsck_apfs -n -l /dev/rdisk1

You can also try Brigadier - https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier .

The prompt is driven by the the fact that the download is being restarted because of a previous failure.

As a test, can you click on BC Assistant -> Action -> Download and try to download the software?

Run Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal.
Type
- sudo fsck_apfs -n -l /dev/rdisk1
- in the Terminal Window
- Press Return
- You will be prompted for your password, which will not be echoed
- Enter it, and press Return
- Take a screen shot using Command+Shift+4
- Attach it to a reply using the 'Photo' icon
This will tell us whether you have any issues with your storage.

Does the Username/Password have administrative rights to the Mac?

Yes it'll be numerous pop ups asking me to input password so it can install helper tool their will be a few that show up stating that it wants to make changes. The other pop up keeps popping up endlessly (the one on the top in the image above). I input my password every time until I get tired of putting my password so then I force quit it.

I should have mentioned that when I made the post but that is how I been downloading the drivers. I don't want to set up a partition on my MacBook so every time I wanted to download the support drivers I would just click Action and then the download button. It would normally work without any pop ups now it doesn't

Hi, I have tried to save the support download in my downloads folder which is located on my mac along with also trying to save it on an external hard drive but each time it gives me that pop-up.

I don't really know how to use Brigadier as I'm not that well educated when it comes to computers so I'd want to stay away from that as I don't want to mess anything up.

When I click on users under setting their is only one user which would be me and it says Admin. Is that what you're referring to? If not how do I check to see if it has administrative rights.
