Safari for MacOs 10.11.

MBP late 2011 running 10.11.6, and Safari 11.1.2.

Can I run a more recent version of Safari ?

If yes please tell me what and where I can get it.

If no I will have to run a more recent version of MacOs.

What Is the most recent version of MacOs that will run on my machine and where can I obtain it ?

Cheers

MacBook Pro 13", OS X 10.11

Solution:

Click on the black Apple in the upper left corner and then on software update.

Select what you want. In my case it was an OS security update 2020-002 (which did not change the version # of MacOs 10.13.6) and an update to Safari 13.1.

All seemed to go well and my MBP is as up to date as is possible.

Now all I have to do is find out what little surprises Apple has installed.

Already my MBP takes more time to do some little things than before.

Typical Apple. For all I know they have slowed my machine down intentionally to encourage me to upgrade.
