Try these steps:

1. Sign in to your email accounts from a web browser. Try to delete the junk mail there. Does it delete the first time, or do you have to delete it twice there as well?
2. If you have to delete it twice from a web browser, you'll want to reach out to your email provider for more help.
3. If it works as expected from a web browser, and you have access to the email on a different device, remove the email account from your iPhone and add it again: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then test the issue to see if you're able to delete junk mail as expected

My iPad Mini 4 started that a couple updates ago. Delete junk and it reappears in a second. Delete again it goes to trash.

my iPhone 8 did not do that, one delete was enough. I updated phone to 13.4.1 and now it takes 2 times to delete junk.

I’m having the same issue. All mail deletes in first try. In junk mail I hit edit, select all then delete. Some gets deleted and then some pop back up! Depending on how many are in the junk file it sometimes takes two or three times to “select all” and delete! Works just fine when using my laptop so it’s an iPhone issue!

The “double delete junk mail” issue is being experienced by far too many of us to be ignored by Apple. This began about two months ago with one of their many updates. They caused the problem so they NEED to fix it and not give us “canned responses” when we complain about this that they caused in the first place...

Why in the last couple months does it take two times to delegate my junk and trash fills after selecting death all on my I 10 XR?

I have the same issue. Even after deleting my Yahoo email account on my iphone 8 and setting it up again I still have to delete junk mail twice in the junk folder and the trash folder. I have IOS 13.5.1. This just started within the past week.

Wam i having to delete my junk twice in both junk and trash since i updated with 13.4 on my 10XR. why do I have to delete my junk twice in both junk and trash? Everything else deletes on the first try. I called Apple and they denied it was the update and told me to remove Yahoo Mail then reload. I did and problem is still there and is getting aggravating and a real pain. I believe it is the update being they both showed up at the same time. I think it’s time for Apple to step in and fix this issue being it showed up in their last update. This happened to me before years ago in a update on a different I-phone and they fixed it. So Apple the time has come again before you loose customers.

All that started after one of Apples annoying updates! This is something they need to fix! Problem is, they don’t know how. These IT folks only know how to create. They can’t fix because it takes too much time and effort! I’ve done what they suggested but nothing works. FIX YOUR PROBLEM APPLE!! It’s not ours to fix!

I am having the same “double delete” issue that many others are experiencing. It is obviously an Apple issue that they are not addressing. Giving “caned responses” to we users is NOT solving the problem.

Hello, Apple Support, are you reading all these complaints about having to delete Junk Mails twice from both Junk Mail Box and Trash!!! It only happened after one of your many updates! ! They need to fix this, not us!

I am having the exact same “double delete” issue with my iPhone SE. Contacting Apple just gives the company “canned” responses. They caused this so perhaps the next “upgrade” will fix it or is that wishful thinking.

This is quite frustrating to say the very least!

Apple is completely ignoring this issue claiming it’s something we need to fix. WRONG! They screwed up and don’t know how to fix it! All they no how to do is send one update after the other which for the most part are aggravating and of very little help. It’s all about changing things that don’t need changing. Someday they might read these posts and admit the can’t find what’s wrong!

There is another “update” scheduled for tonight. Perhaps they have FINALLY wised up and will fix this “ double delete” issue that they have ignored for at least two months. Someone at “technical support” should be reading our complaints and fix this issue.
