On my new iPhone se 2020 I can’t set a live wallpaper is this the only phone or me doing it wrong :)

When you set a Live Photo as wallpaper, touch and hold the Lock screen to play the Live Photo—on all iPhone models except iPhone SE (1st generation).
That would mean either the iPhone SE 2nd Gen is actually supposed to have Live Wallpaper, or this article is not updated, or incorrect. I feel like it's the former; this article says "1st generation", implying that it was updated to reflect the fact that there is now a 2nd generation. If somebody went and added "1st generation" to this article upon the release of the 2nd gen, wouldn't they have mentioned that the new phone did not support Live Wallpaper?

Many, many machines offer options that are available for additional money. Perhaps an automobile offers an air conditioning option. Some iPhones offer additional camera zooming capability. Some iPads offer Apple Pencil capability. Live Wallpaper is available on higher priced, newer iPhones.
Could you please add the ability to have a live wallpaper on the SE 2nd gen please. I’ve read every single response in this conversation and it appears the majority of comments are from dedicated apple users, who like me, have spend a small fortune on apple products. Although some may see this an a minor feature, it does not discredit a customers frustration over feeling deceived and mislead by Apple. As many others have pointed out, by using backed up data, they were able to use this function for a short time. So clearly the phone itself, along with its factory installed hardware has the capability to provide users with this function. However the question still remains…”will a future iOS update give SE(2020) uses the option to use Live wallpaper?”
It is obvious by the date of your responses, that you have followed this thread in its entirety. But do you realize that your rude and sarcastic responses have NEVER ONCE provided a clear and thorough explanation? Do you realize how unhelpful and frustrating it is for customers to simply be told “No” without you providing an explanation that’s relevant to the situation? We’re not imbeciles and I can ensure you the majority have done thorough research prior to buying their Apple product.
So if you cannot provide an explanation or an answer without giving FACTUAL and HELPFUL information, then may I suggest you leave it to the professionals or an actual Apple representative. Your rudeness is unwelcome…you sound like a self-absorbed narcissist, who hides behind the persona of a wanna-be Tech expert. From what i know, only iDevices that have force touch can properly use the live photo feature. When you transfer, it works for haptic but officially, only iPhones with force touch have live wallpapers
The first apple support article I found stated that you only needed OS 14 or 15. I thought my software was out of date. Did the update, still no live wallpaper. As far as I can tell, the facial recognition software and the live wallpaper software are two totally unrelated pieces of code. There’s no reason to inhibit the iPhone SE 2020 from using this feature. FIX IT PLEASE
But why? There seems to be no reason. Sure, the ORIGINAL iPhone SE couldn’t do it. But the new SE has Haptic Touch like the iPhone 11, with the same processor.
So why no live wallpapers, Apple?

The iPhone 11has Face ID. The iPhone SE does not.
Face ID has no bearing on live wallpapers tho? The 8 had live wallpapers, no Face ID.
Exactly, even the iPhone 6s has live wallpapers but why not the the se? It’s pretty much an eight but with the chip of the 11, which both have live wallpapers. So why not the se?

Is there any chance it will be brought back into the next update? I am extremely frustrated to find I can’t display a Live Photo as my wallpaper when I’ve been looking forward to it.
iPhone 11 has Haptic Touch (like SE 2) instead of 3D Touch, and it still has live wallpapers.
yes. usually when u have live wallpapers it pops up next to stills (premade ones) and i don’t have them 😞
