In that case, the last paragraph of this Apple Support article would be incorrect then?

https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/change-the-wallpaper-iph3d267104/ios

When you set a Live Photo as wallpaper, touch and hold the Lock screen to play the Live Photo—on all iPhone models except iPhone SE (1st generation).

That would mean either the iPhone SE 2nd Gen is actually supposed to have Live Wallpaper, or this article is not updated, or incorrect. I feel like it's the former; this article says "1st generation", implying that it was updated to reflect the fact that there is now a 2nd generation. If somebody went and added "1st generation" to this article upon the release of the 2nd gen, wouldn't they have mentioned that the new phone did not support Live Wallpaper?

Hello,

So I did a bit of research on this issue, the fact is that 3D touch is a layer of the display that reveals the strong pressure imposed by the user while Haptic touch only detects a prolonged user touch.

But anyway in the past this function of the live wallpaper worked, so this is not the difference, I will try to update to iOS 14.1 (iPhoneOS 14.1 because in a while it will change its name 😐 in theory) and let you know.

But the hypotheses of the fact of the removal of the live wallpaper can be: the battery but there is nothing connected to the battery in this case, or certain bugs for the detection of the user's accentuated and prolonged pressure.

The second hypothesis is the best if you think about it because maybe your phone gets wet and Haptic touch detects that you are making a long press and starts the live wallpaper without your will, this in 3D touch does not happen because you are the one to impress the force. and for as long as you like.

To clarify the Hatpic touch is a software thing therefore more difficult to control than the 3D touch which is a layer of the display.

however, in my opinion this was the reason for removing this feature even if it seems a bit of a crap from this point of view 😑.

Further to my question above (new Apple ID so different username), I haven’t received a response, so the answer I was provided previously I don’t think is valid. I think the reason is actually because both SE generations and the XR are not flagship models unlike the other phones so Apple is “punishing” people who don’t buy a flagship. I think it’s very petty and it’s hacked off a lot of people!

I really don't thin they are no logical explanation, if even the iPhone 6/6s had Live Wallpaper it really doesn't make sense that the SE 2020 don't have the option to have live wallpaper.

My former comment is deleted because I said truth about those illogical stuff that Apple is doing right now.

It's not about being logical, it's about being hungry for more money, even if you must do really not smart choices and illogical stuff

So just so it’s clear, I had recently gotten the iPhone SE 2020 and at first was able to use Live Wallpapers, but after awhile it just stopped working, my phone is currently on the latest update and the live wallpapers option is still not available. I don’t know when they will fix this but it does have the ability to use Live Wallpaper.

Hello,

So first of all I noticed that even the iPhone 12 do not have the 3D touch but rather the Haptic Enigne this means that they cannot use the live wallpapers, but they have them ..... wait what?

I mean you want to tell me that they can only because they cost more? then if it were a talk of drums, but what do I care if it lasts me 1 hour less, then the battery is the same as an iPhone 8 which still has the possibility of live wallpapers.

So this thread has to go up to the top and get to the developers let's hear it, iPhone SE 2nd sold a lot between 12 and 14 million copies in the second quarter alone you did a great action but don't fall as you did like with the battery issue years ago 🤬.

Best regards

Hello,

Could you get help from a specialized Apple consultant who gives clear answers?

Question:

Why iPhone SE 2nd which has all the features like an iphone 11 which supports live wallpapers and doesn't have them?

Why does the iPhone 12 also have Haptic Engine and it supports live wallpapers?

I hope they give answers if not we will reopen a new thread.

Kindest regards Nicola Garatti.

Bro, that does not answer his question. I too have the iPhone SE (2020, duh). No Live Photo support for lock screen at all. None.

My gf has a 6+ and it supports Live Photos as the lock screen and I’m positive her phone does NOT have Face ID. If you don’t know the answer to the question, just say so instead of giving vague (and incorrect) answers.

That document only references Iphone SE 1 and 2 and does not address iphone se 3. My daughter is quite disappointed to see this was left out for the iPhone SE 3 as she upgraded to this from an iphone 7 and thought that since the official Apple support document did not include it in the model list exempted that it would be able to use it. Seems like a very petty business decision when the phone still costs $670 CDN to not enable that option. If the iPhone 6 can do it.....

That is correct. There is no such thing as an iPhone SE 3.

The first generation iPhone SE was released by Apple in 2016 and discontinued in 2018. The second generation iPhone SE was introduced by Apple in 2020 and is still being sold.
