Apple ID

My granddaughter gave me an iPad and set it up. I don't know what information she used for my Apple ID. When I need to set my Apple ID for Facetime and Messages I can not. I want to keep my email address. HELP!

setting up new ipad for my 12 year old. We have sim card and assigned phone number. After creating a new appleid for her, the ipad is now defaulting to the apple id email as the message recipient, rather than the phone number I am setting up a new ipad for my 12 year old. We have sim card with assigned phone number in the device. After creating a new appleid for my child on the ipad, the device is now defaulting to that appleid email address for the messages app. How do I reset it to the phone number for messages and facetime?

Open the Settings app. Tap on your name at the top left. The next screen should show your Apple ID at the top under your name.

Ask your granddaughter for the ID and password and write them down for future reference.
