I ran an activity monitor and found something odd.. why is AddressBbookeSourceSync taking so much CPU and can this be the reason why my computer is slow? Your expertise would be greatly appreciated, thank you! H

Seems odd, as a test in Sys Prefs>iCloud... uncheck Contacts.
Looks like you did.
In Activity Monitor>highlight addressbookesourcesync then click on the tiny x icon above it & force quit it... does it come back & does it settle down CPU use?
I think that is all it does, but would like to hear back if it is working now or not. :)

Is syncing with addressbookesourcesync only good for back up and when using the phone?
otherwise, a nuisance if you ask me.
