Call Answered on Another Device and Someone Possibly Using My Phone Number for iMessage

So at 2:50 am I got a FaceTime from a random number I was not familiar with. I didn't answer but then when I looked at my call log it said "Answered on another device." I didn't answer this call on another device so this concerned me. I asked the number who they were and they said "oh your number must somehow be connected to my girlfriends, I'm sorry." I looked this question up on here and people were mentioning resetting passwords and such so I already changed my passwords and made sure I didn't have any extra devices listed in my settings. Is is possible someone could be using my number for their iMessage or maybe this guy just called the wrong number? I still have no idea why it said

"answered on another device."

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you received a phone call from a number that you didn’t recognize. You’re concerned because it shows the call was answered on another device. You have changed you have changed your password. I’m happy to help.

Great job changing your Apple ID password. I do recommend that you go through the additional steps here: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support I want to ensure that your Apple ID is secured.

Do you share an Apple ID with a significant other or another family member? Do you use more than one Apple device? If so, check to see if you have enabled Continuity using the steps here: Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support
