Time machine "Disk Not Ejected Properly"

Keep getting a notification: "Disk Not Ejected Properly" when Time Machine finishes backup. "New" 2012 Mac Pro, El Capitan. System on 1TB SSD and my User Folder on 6TB HD. Solved the problem at one time by making Spotlight not search the Time Machine (8 TB external) disk.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Ejecting through Disk Utility makes it start shutting down but then it automatically starts up again before I can disconnect. "Disk Not Ejected Properly" message Following disconnection of all our equipment for house decorating, we get the above message, with the instruction "Eject "Time Machine" before disconnecting or turning it off. This recurs every time the computer is used, building up all down the right hand side of the screen. How can I stop it? Everything was switched off and / or ejected before the decorating. Time Machine is working as usual. Im sorry I posted this first in "High Sierra" but our OS is Mojave. Thank you for any help!

My Time Machine backup disk is disappeared Hello, seems like my luck with external drives is bad :) I have been using "Seagate Backup Plus For Mac Portable Drive" as a backup disk for my Mac Pro. Always been connected via USB and laying behind the monitor (so no drops or anything like that could have happened to it). All of a sudden Mac says that couldn't back up and I noticed that the little light is not on anymore. Plugged - unplugged many times, same thing. I hear it and feel it, so that thing is on, but something happened to it. Even Utility Disk won't catch it. Dead drive? Any other way to get into it? Thanks in advance, Gio.

Is the Backup Disk one that auto sleeps like a "Green" or some "Reds"?

It is an 8tb external drive from owc used as time machine.
