Securing old imessages on ipad2

Hi, I have iMessages on my old iPad that I don’t want to lose. How can I either move them to my new 7th generation iPad, or to a removable device? (None of the iTunes options/icons appear on my old iPad)

thanks

You can’t move them to an external device, but you can easily synchronise them to another iPad/iPhone that is logged-in to iCloud with the same AppleID:

On all devices that you wish to synchronise Messages:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Messages

Optionally on your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - explicitly enable each device that should receive/send forwarded messages.
