Security Update 2019-007 10.13.6 I have tried to install this update on my MacBook Air several times and when it restarts I have a black screen with the cursor only. The update does not install. The black screen has now become an issue whenever I shutdown; the computer will not turn off so I have to hold the power button down until the computer shuts down. What can I do to resolve these two issues: the update install, and the black screen?

macbook pro problem my MacBook pro won't restart i have to shutdown so i don't think i'm getting the right updates the security update won't go

Hold alt key on startup & see if there's a boot choice, if not try CMD+r keys on startup.
