iTunes must be made more user friendly to copy content

In this current generation of fast and reliable technology, iTunes lags far behind the goals, to copy simple content, it makes one do lot of things. I tried to copy few videos and its asking me to sync whole lot of library, that's a very tedious task. I wish the developers at apple should focus on how to make using iTunes a user friendly experience instead of a bottleneck experience.

There are two ways you can approach this:

  1. an irresistible force (you) meeting an immovable object (Apple)
  2. you can find out how to get the best out of iTunes as it is

Despite some frustrations, I find iTunes easy to use. I am not aware of iTunes "making me do lots of things", whatever that means. So regarding my second point, why not ask here how to synchronise just the movies you want and only specific music? That way, we can have a discussion in which you can find out how to achieve what you want.

I'll leave you to determine how number one works out.

An answer thats is more sarcastic makes the experience even more frustating.

‘Makin lot of things to do’ means actually make extra steps instead of being simple. The 3 videos that I wanted to copy, I had them on my macbook desktop folder, I could not drop these videos into videos folder on device while the iphone was connected by cable to my macbook -First failure. I atleast wanted to add them to the Videos folder on macbook pro library so I can sync them to the phone - I never found a videos folder on the Finder app in the macbook it just had music folder - this step 2 Failed.

Finally I shared the video to my iphone via Airdrop and guess what -There isnt a videos app as such on the iphone like the Music app where I can play videos instead the videos that just air dropped I are sitting in the ‘Photos’ folder somewhere in between photos. Howw crazy is that, and I literally had to make a separate folder to select those videos from the vast pool of photos into this folder so that they are separate from 10a of photos I had on phone.

What else can make this horrible experience bette??

That is why I voiced iTunes could be more User friendly.

Your post was nothing more than a rant, not least because it contained no information that would help us to help you.

Your second post might provide an avenue by which someone can help.

You now mention Finder and Macbook, but you've posted in iTunes for Windows, which simply misleads anyone trying to help you. Even if you couldn't find the correct forum, you could have at least made it clear that you were not using Windows.

So, assuming that you wish to find a better way to do what you want (rather than argue with me), let's try and work out what you need to do.

I'm not familiar enough with Macs (which is why I don't contribute to the Mac forums), so I need to ask; which operating system are you using, is it OS Catalina, or earlier? It makes a difference, since OS Catalina does not use iTunes. Yes, I still need to ask, since so far, what you have told us is as likely as not to produce the wrong answers.

If you do use iTunes, you should be adding the videos to iTunes and then using iTunes to copy the videos onto your device. There are options within iTunes to selectively add content to a portable device. If you haven't worked out how to do that, ask. But if you are using OS Catalina, you won't have iTunes, in which case, you might be better off posting in the MacOS Catalina forum: macOS Catalina - Apple Community
