an error "there was a problem connecting to the server" pop-ups on launching of MS teams.

The error "there was a problem connecting to the server "X.X.X.X". " pop up appears on my macbook.

where "X.X.X.X" is my office server.

before installing team this popup come used to comes suddenly anytime when I am not connected to my office network. but after installing MS teams and o365 everything work correctly except teams.

now when I launch MS teams, it open and hang for a minute till this error appears. Once I click on "OK" on errors msg, teams starts working.

error msg keeps coming on again and again.

troubleshooting I have done.

  1. reinstalled o365 and teams.
  2. there was no server drive mapped on mac.
  3. removed cache and plist files for MS teams in Library folder.
  4. there was no suspected entry in host file or in DNS.
  5. No suspected items found in login items in user account.

will appreciate your help to provide any solution for this problem.

Thanks in Advance.

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

Sys Prefs>Network>highlight the Interface you're using>Advanced>TCP/IP>Configure IPv4: Using DHCP.

If using Wifi, instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

System Preferences>Network>choose interface>Advanced>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS.

System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

8.8.8.8

thank your for your reply, but the issue is when I launch MS teams, it open and hang for a minute till this error "there was a problem connecting to the server" appears. Once I click on OK on errors msg, teams starts working. so everytime when i click on MS teams icon, this issue occurs.

I am using my laptop at home and problem is coming with MS teams only, rest is working fine.

It seems there is local issue with the macbook.

Thank you for your response.
