MacBook Pro crashed while in SideCar

I was using my MacBook Pro 2018 15” with my iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd gen) in SideCar through a USB-C To Lightning cable. The MacBook was also on charge. Suddenly the iPad said it was switching to a wireless connection for SideCar, and my MacBook’s fans accelerated for a second before switching completely off. I have tried switching my MacBook on since then using various methods (SMC reset) and nothing seems to be working. The MacBook keeps accelerating the fan for a second at random intervals whilst being off. It has shown no other sign of life besides the Touch Bar display faintly turning on for a second before going off again. The MacBook was not running hot at the time of switching off.

I tried to recreate the scenario it was in when it switched off. Plugged in the MacBook to power and the iPad to the MacBook. The iPad started charging and the MacBook started booting up, before the fans accelerated and switched off again after a few seconds

To trouble shoot further you can:

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test. Reboot and test as caches get rebuilt.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

If you can not boot the macOS—

Boot into Recovery (Command R) and from the dropdown menu: Utilities>  Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD (and the "Macintosh HD-Data" volume as well if Catalina) If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.
