Lost contacts

when I delete an old email accountI lose contacts. The contacts lost had nothing to do with the deleted email account but somehow were associated with the email account anyway. When I add a new contact how do I control what email account the new contact is associated with so this does not happen again?

Is anyone monitoring this forum? This is the second time I have posted this question.

Choose your default contacts account carefully. Watch the second GIF.

Contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

  1. How many Contacts account (email client server) you have?
  2. What is your default Contacts Account?
  3. Which email account you are using to store Contacts?

  • See the GIF below for Contacts and Default Account

  • This example is for Gmail but the process remains same for all Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other
