Input audio through the lightning port
I have no headphone port, only the lightning port on my iPhone 8. I am trying to record music using GarageBand. Without purchasing an interface to connect an instrument or external audio source to my iphone, is it possible to simply use the Lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter to connect an instrument or audio source? In other words, if I connect an electric guitar to that little adapter, will the iPhone recognize that there is a device connected and treat the connection as an input rather than an output? I hope I am making sense. When I had a 3.5mm headphone jack on my iPhone, I could connect an instrument using an inexpensive interface, but it seems like a Lightning Interface is a lot more expensive $100. Thanks!
