iPhone "Photos" app show black thumbnails of images in cameraroll (4.0.1)

When opening the Photos app, about half of my images will show as black thumbnails (I have about 400 images on the phone). I can tap the screen and view images, emailing them is fine and so on, but I can not see them in the cameraroll. I believe this is a bug with 4.0.1, and it does not help hard reseting og syncing with iTunes. Any solution to this?

I couldn't figure out how to back up the Camera Roll photos either, and consequently lost all of them, which wasn't a big deal since most of my photos were also in albums.

I also couldn't find /DCIM/.MISC/Info.plist on the iPhone Explorer list, although I tried deleting the DCIM root file, cause I mis-read the instructions.

I also had to do a hard re-start, and that's when I noticed the Camera Roll was empty.

At least I don't have to look at a big black area when go the Camera Roll any longer 🙂

Thanks everyone.

In case this doesn't post: iPhone 3Gs; iOS 4, Windows 7
