Not Enough Disk Space?

I keep getting not enough disk space when trying to add music to my timeline on Final Cut Pro X. I have over 1.5 TB and 1.8TB of space on my external hard drive and computer hard drive respectively.

Any help would be appreciated

not enough disk space I am trying to drag an audio file, either as a iTunes file or one of the built in sound effects built in onto the timeline. When I do i get not enough disk space message and the audio file does not transfer. I have 130gb plus of free space so not sure whats going on here. any ideas ? thanks

My smart playlist is much larger than reported I want to put the contents of a 249 Gb playlist onto a 256 Gb USB flash drive. I drag/drop the playlist tracks onto the drive in the Finder in batches since doing it in one operation chokes the Finder. The playlist is ordered by Album title while I do this. For some reason, I can't even get through Albums starting with 'M' before I run out of space on the flash drive. Why would this be given that the stated and reported size of the drive should easily accommodate the playlist contents? macOS v.11.6 TIA, David

How to delete music creation file i deleted garageband because i never use it and i need extra space. but after i check storage management music creation files is still there but i can't delete it. i searched ways to delete it and by my research, they say i have to install it all over again to delete music creation files. so i installed it again, and it says music creation files has zero kb! problem solved?? haha nope. so i delete garageband again (thought my problem solved), and checked storage management, the music creation files is comes back again! can anyone help me with this problem?? i'm still running on High Sierra

This tip explains how to run Etrecheck. A handy utility to determine if something is being generated that could give the system the misinformation about the space on the computer. Paste the results, and we can look at it.
