I am having a problem with my mid-2014 Mac Book Pro. Randomly the audio is going into some kind of repeating stuttering echo. It's like the audio is going through a guitar delay unit set to lots of repeats. It rights itself after a few seconds. This problem is not confined to any particular app - it does it on iTunes, Final Cut Pro etc. I can't seem to produce the problem at will. It just seems to do it when it feels like it. It's not like it's tied to any button pressing - space bar, enter etc. I'm running Mojave 10.14.6

If no resolve To trouble shoot further you can:

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test. Reboot and test as caches get rebuilt.
In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a reboot will put it back to normal mode.
This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
You might also try turn off the microphone/SIRI and see if this is the cause.
