New or upgrade

I have a MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch early 2105. 2.7 GHZ intel core i5, 8 GB 1867 Mhz DDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB. I have all my photos on the cloud. I went through all my apps and cut out any that were not being used or needed. I have very few documents on my computer. I cannot upgrade to Catalina as I do not have enough room. Also my main graphic app is Silhouette Studio and it has become very very slow. I also have and am trying to learn Affinity Photo, Design, and Publisher. I have two users and some of the same things are on both users. Not the those previously mentioned graphic programs. If I delete from one user would I lose it in the other user as well? Is it worth upgrading to a brand new computer or upgrading components in this computer? What is the cost differential? What would I upgrade if I did? I once upgraded my HD and then the computer started to over heat. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome!

The only item in that model that can be upgraded is the solid state drive. What size is the current drive? If it is already a larger one (512GB or more) any upgrade is going to be pricy, but less than a new computer.

The SSD is user-serviceable in that model. Please see this site's offerings:

and their installation videos to see if you are up to tackling the replacement at home:

I recommend getting the "kit" that includes a small drive enclosure. It allows easy cloning of the old drive's content to the the new drive and, when the install is completed, you can move the old drive to the enclosure and have an external for extra storage or backups.

OWC sells a PCIe SSD upgrade for the 2015

You can compare that to a new Mac:

The refresh of the 13" has not dropped yet
