I keep putting in my apple id but the verification popup returns again

If you enter your Apple ID and password, does that make the popup go away?
No two factor authentication. I've done a hard reboot (Holding power button down). Now when the itunes verification popup comes up asking for my apple id, i can click the "cancel" button and disappears while I'm working. But then later it pops up again.
No, it keeps coming back.
I really don't want to change the password
