My mobile has broken so a neighbour has given me an old iphone 4 to use as a temporary replacement.
I have put my sim card in and connected to my wifi but can't get past the activation lock as it will not accept my apple id or password.
Is there anything either of us can do.

Ask your neighbor to do the steps in the article below to remove their ID and data. Then you should be able to set the phone up without problems.
